FAQs: Jobseekers
How does this website work for candidates?
You answer all our questions and we produce a well constructed searchable CV in PDF format, which is stored on the system under your unique ID number. Employers seeking spa staff search the system for appropriate and promising candidates. THEY CANNOT SEE YOUR NAME, CONTACT DETAILS OR CURRENT EMPLOYER'S NAME If they choose your CV we contact you via email telling you what and where the vacancy is - and we ask you if you are interested in this opportunity. If you are not interested, the process ends there and your personal details - name, phone number, email address - will not be forwarded to the employer. We hope you will find the next opportunity more to your liking! If you confirm you are interested, then we forward your full CV including your name and contact details to the employer. At this point the employer is free to email or call you to discuss their position in more detail..

I did not receive my verification email so I can't progress. What can I do?
I already have a CV - can I not just send this to you?
For you to get the best out of this service you need to submit the content of your CV onto our online template. Employers will then be able to search for suitable candidates. If your CV matches their criteria then it will come up as a CV of interest. If you do not submit your CV online employers who are keen to avoid agency fees will not find you!

Can I make my CV come high on the list of an employer's search results?
Yes! First ensure that you have filled in all of your skills and experience on your searchable CV - if you haven't then employers will be less likely to find your CV in their search results. CVs satisfying employers' search criteria will be listed according to how recently the candidate logged on and updated their CV details. So even if you do not need to update your CV it would be smart to login in and click 'update' from time to time. If you want to come near the top of a search listing then weekly updating makes sense.

I did not finish creating my CV - do I need to start again?
No! You may come back at any time to finish building your CV - just log in with your username and password and enter. Your personal CV home page has links for each step of the process. Click on the link for the next step you wish to complete - or start at Step one and work all the way through, checking what you have already written first. An employer will only be able to view a CV if it is has been completed and is not hidden in our archive.

I listed the products I worked with in the job history section. Do I need to list them again in Step 4?
Yes, this is very important! Not everyone is officially trained in the products they sometimes work with. Though employers are interested in any experience at any time, they may do a detailed search for job seekers with specific product training. Unless you fill out Step 4, your CV will not be captured in such a search - and you'll miss an opportunity.

My personal details are hidden at all times - is that correct?

We email you with details of any position offered by an employer who is interested in your CV.

I am presently employed. Should I archive my CV or is it OK to keep it active?
It depends... If you are interested in hearing about possible positions which might tempt you to hand in your notice then you should keep your CV 'active' at all times. If you are happy and settled and do not wish to be in the job market for the time being then 'archive' your CV until you feel the time is right to think about moving on. Remember to log on and update your CV with further training, experiences or additional duties while these are fresh in your mind.

As a student - qualifying soon - should I create my searchable CV now?
Yes! Some employers are eager to take on college leavers. Remember to list in detail any industry related work experience including products used while at college.

Is it OK to print off my CV and use it elsewhere?
Yes - this is part of our free service! We hope you will also keep it on our system to offer you the best chance of finding your dream job - not just now but at any time in the future. It may be that your first job can be found independently and locally by using this professional CV. But as you become more experienced there will be increasing interest in you from employers within your chosen type of employment.

How can this service be free for candidates? Is there a catch?
Employers typically spend a lot of time and money advertising jobs and sorting through all the CVs they get sent - or else they use expensive agencies. Our system is fast and effective, and we charge employers a small fee only when they find a CV they like belonging to a candidate who is interested in the job they are offering. Much of our system is automated, so we can cover our costs by charging small amounts to large numbers of employers recruiting for very many positions.
