We are a small family owned hair salon, located in, Grand Cayman. Our atmosphere is professional but also casually-family oriented. We are looking for a candidate who has experience with working with high profile clients and celebrities. Our client base consist 50% from locals and 50% from hotel guests and tourists. We do have a lot of weddings and groups.

Job Responsibilities:
-    Provide knowledgeable consultation to clients to determine the best hairstyle/color
-    Completes haircutting techniques, including trims, layers, and texturizing.
-    Performs haircoloring methods, such as highlights, ombre, and balayage.
-    Perform chemical treatments such as keratin, split ends treatment etc.
-    Styles hair, including blowouts, curls, braids, ponytails, and updos.
-    Applying hair extensions such as tape in, bonds, wefts
-    Creating hairstyles for brides and bridesmaids
-    Upsells clients on products and services.
-    Develops ongoing relationships with clients.
-    Keeps a clean station and sanitizes all tools.
-    Follows all salon policies and procedures.
Applicants should possess (as a minimum):
-    At least 5 years’ current experience as a stylist
-    Relevant qualification/ certification in hairstyling and beauty with recent demonstrated commitment to maintaining current professional development
-    Must have a strong knowledge of latest trends and treatments including keratin and hair extensions
-    Previous experience in creating formal hairstyles for special events, weddings.
-    Ability to work independently with no supervision
-    Ability to work quickly and accurately in time-pressured conditions
-    Must be an independent worker with exceptional people skills and a calm, happy personality.
-    Must be willing to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as this is a common requirement for the position.
Applicants are required to hold a clean police record, valid driver’s license and have use of own vehicle.
The salary is commission based on your experience, plus gratuities and statutory benefits as required by law.

Salary: $17 hourly, 37.5 hours per week.

Benefits: Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate, Commission, Gratuities

Important Information: Work schedule is from Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (It includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-min paid breaks). However, flexibility on schedule is required depending on the business’ needs, and so, occasional overtime work on Wednesdays may be needed. Weekend work is required. Overtime may be required.
