Job Description:
• Assess clients by conducting range of motion and muscle tests and propose treatment plans
• Suggest home care instructions and provide information about techniques
• Administer massage techniques through soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, joint pain and lower grade mobilizations
• Maintain records of treatments given
• Explain procedures, risks and benefits to clients
• Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body
• Apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body
• Consult with other health care professionals when developing treatment plans for clients
Requirements:
- Education: Completion of an 18- to 24-month or 18- to 36-month program in massage therapy from an accredited school
- At least 2 years of experience are required.
- Massage techniques required: Reiki, Shiatsu on the ground and Japanese
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity
Personal Suitability: Interpersonal awareness, Effective interpersonal skills, Values and ethics, Client focus, Accurate, Excellent oral communication
- Languages: French and English are required. Spanish is a strong asset
Salary: $25.00 to $26.00 per hour – 40 hours per week.
Important Information: The position requires extended working hours and flexibility in planning; including morning, day, evening, night or weekend hours, as needed. The candidate will work 6 to 8 hours a day within the following schedule depending on the needs of the company: Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The candidate will be entitled to a weekly rest period of at least 32 consecutive hours.
